Our Music
This energetic young band is pure diversity, reaching out into all kinds of styles - while making sure to keep your feet moving! Our music consists of all original tunes featuring jazz elements like fresh improvisation on top of the solid foundation of loose dance grooves. Such as drumīnībass, funk and R&B, sometimes with more 'goofy' New Orleans influences. We constantly make contact with the audience through taking special care of the selection of pieces we play and the moods we create. By doing this we are catching the sphere of the whole space and loosen people up. Our show is relaxing, yet our play with the audience through the music is keeping everyone on top of what is happening. Through our music we are not attempting to artificially create good vibrations, but rather we are expressing who we really are. This has a very positive effect on the audience as well as on our music, since we are not uptight on stage. In the last year we played around Amsterdam, amongst other engagements at the Melkweg, at the TryTone festival and at the SjU- Jazz podium in Utrecht.
'The MonKy TRee' is suitable for all dance venues but also sitty-downy-to-listen venues with open minds, definitely all jazz venues and maybe clubs or bars which have never tried live music before and need a taste of live groovy stuff that gets people off their chairs. And of course private and opening parties.
