Achim Heine (drs.)
was born in Solingen, Germany, in 1979. After a childhood and youth full of music he studied drums at first privately with Helge Zumdieck in Bremen, then since september 2000 at conservatories in the netherlands (Rotterdam, then Amsterdam). He took lessons from Hans van Oosterhout, Lucas van Meerwijk, Marcel Serierse and Martijn Vink. In the summer of 2004 he completed his studies.
At the moment he is the steady drummer in different jazz and groove bands in Amsterdam. Besides the drums he is dedicated to the djembe, the sabar, the mbira and the tabla, and especially composing at the piano. He is founder (together with Hannes Riepler) and bandleader of The MonKy TRee.

Hannes Riepler (guit.)
was born in 1979 in Innsbruck, Austria, and started playing music at the age of six. After gaining more experience in various highschool bands he moved in the year 2000 to the Netherlands to study guitar at the 'Conservatorium van Amsterdam' with Jesse van Ruller, Martijn van Iterson and Maarten van der Grinten. Besides playing with various bands he also had the chance to perform with Minu Cinelu, Adam Holzman, Bobby Shew, and Kurt Weiss.

David Thalmeier (trpt.)
Born in 1976, he began playing the trumpet at the age of ten.
He studied three years at the 'Richard Strauß Konservatorium' in his home town Munich, Germany, Then he changed to the 'Conservatorium van Amsterdam' in the Netherlands, where he did his final exam in 2004. During his studies he participated with the Contrast Sextett at several competitions. He won a special price at the German competition 'Jugend jazzt', which enabled him to play at a.o. the Montreux Jazz Festival. At the competition in Breda (Netherlands) he won the first price.
He worked together with the Dutch Jazz Orchestra and performed at the 'Carré' (Amsterdam, 2003) with the production "made in holland".

Glenn Gaddum (bass)
was born in 1982 in Alkmaar and raised in Amsterdam, Holland. He came from a musical family and was influenced early on by his father, a jazz pianist and owner of a recording studio. Glenn displayed an early affinity for jazz music. By the age of sixteen he was working regularly with various bands and spent the next few years as a studio musician. He has appeared as a bassist on all kinds of records. He is also playing with the successful group 'The Mindmenders'. They won the 'Grote Prijs van Nederland' award.
With his bands he gave many performances across the country as on national television and radio, as on the Lowlands Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, MTV and so on.
At this moment Glenn is a student at the Conservatory of Amsterdam besides his regular performances across the country. |

Henning Grambow (keys)
is coming from Hamburg, Germany. At the moment he works and plays with The MonKy TRee, Grambowski and wickedjazzsounds. Back in germany he was part of several theatre and musical projects. It is possible for him to find his way in music through various studio engagements, concerts and theatre and musical projects. He a.o. played together with Bob Mintzer, Joe Gallardo and Karl Bartos. Musically he is interested in the area between house, dance, jazz and honest music - always coming up with characteristic musical ideas. Momentarily he studies jazz piano at the conservatory of Amsterdam. |
